GTA 5 Bugstars Equipment is a heist setup in Grand Theft Auto V, which our protagonist Michael De Santa receives from Lester Crest. In order to unlock this mission, you need to have completed The Jewel Store Job heist and opted for the Smart Approach at the end of that mission. If you meet that requirement, Michael will receive a message from Lester at some point, after which a Hs icon will appear on the world map. You can trigger the mission by going there.
Additional note: This is the first one of a series of short missions connected with the smart heist variant. It is recommended that you complete it without raising alarms. Don’t worry, it is pretty easy to pull that off. In this article, we will be walking you through the exact steps you need to do in order to achieve that.
GTA 5 Bugstars Equipment Mission Objectives
The goal of GTA 5 Bugstars Equipment is incredibly straightforward. All you have to do is travel to the Bugstars warehouse located in South Los Santos, snitch a Bugstars van, and deliver that to the garment factory.
That said, there are still multiple ways that you can mess this up. The mission will fail under one of the following situations:
- You take too much damage to the point of getting Wasted.
- You get Busted and are arrested by the police.
- The Bugstars van that you are supposed to deliver is destroyed before it reaches the intended destination.
Walkthrough
The van that you are tasked with stealing is parked in Elysian Island, in the southern part of Los Santos. Once you get there, you can choose to tackle the matter in one of two ways:
The most direct approach is to just simply enter through the entrance of the warehouse. Of course, if you do so, the employees working there will become aggressive toward you. In case you have a weapon on your hands, though, they will run away in terror instead. Do note that your wanted level will instantly be put at two-star if that happens. If you want, you can also kill all of them by running over them with your vehicle upon arrival – or even with the Bugstars van itself after you… “steal” it (Strictly speaking it wouldn’t be stealing then, but still).

The alternative and wiser approach would be to walk around the warehouse to get to the back of the building, enter stealth, then get close and knock down the employee standing near the van. You can also shoot him from afar, but for that, you’ll need a pistol equipped with a suppressor, and you need to pull off a headshot to instantly kill him in order to avoid getting spotted. After dealing with him, get inside the van and drive out from the back.

Whichever way you choose to handle this, the mission will conclude when Michael successfully get the van to the drop-off point that Lester assigned. Michael will then call Lester to let him know, upon which the next heist setup will automatically be triggered.
GTA 5 Bugstars Equipment Gold Medal Objectives
Getting the gold medal on this mission couldn’t be simpler: All you have to do is stealing the Bugstars van while remaining undetected. As we said, this is extremely easy to do. Just follow the stealth approach we discussed above, and you will have absolutely no problem.
